Description

Come Thou Fount/Prelude in C is a flowing medley intertwining the popular hymn “Come Thou Fount” with J. S. Bach’s beloved “Prelude in C” and can be played by intermediate or advanced performers on a 4.5 octave or higher hammered dulcimer. The Come Thou Fount portion of the piece largely contains hand independence, while the Prelude in C section focuses more on interdependent play. The inspiration for this arrangement was simply the need to arrange “Come Thou Fount” in a classical manner, and this was the result! This hymn arrangement is an exact transcription from the album Nothing but the Blood: Solo Hymns for Hammered Dulcimer.
